Recipe: Delicious Khanan Dhokla

Khanan Dhokla. This very same dhokla can be crumbed and served with accompaniments like assorted chutneys, fried green chillies and a delicious raw papaya salad in a different avatar known as khaman. My mother-in-law adds a pinch of sugar to the batter to match every Guajarati's love for a hint of sweetness in their food. The secret of its sponginess and no requirement of advance preparation lies in using popular Eno salt.

Khanan Dhokla It's a mouth-watering, nutritious, and irresistible Gujarati snack; that's perfect as breakfast and even better as a snack. Khaman is a variation of the Rava Dhokla recipe I shared before. The primary ingredients in Khaman is gram flour, while for Rava Dhokla the main ingredient is semolina. You can have Khanan Dhokla using 10 ingredients and 3 steps. Here is how you achieve that.

Ingredients of Khanan Dhokla

  1. You need 1 cup of besan.
  2. You need 1/2 cup of suji.
  3. It's 1 tsp of baking soda.
  4. Prepare to taste of Salt.
  5. It's 1 tsp of Sugar.
  6. Prepare of Curry patta.
  7. Prepare 1 tsp of Oil.
  8. It's 1 tsp of Sarso Dana.
  9. Prepare 2 of green chillies.
  10. It's 1 of table sp curd.

Khaman is also called as Besan Dhokla or Yellow Dhokla due to it's yellow color from gram flour. Traditionally Khaman is steamed in a stovetop pressure cooker without the whistle.   1. Mix besan,suji, oil and salt. Mix well.
  2. Now put into mould and steam.
  3. Now take a pan add oil and sarso Dana sugar and water add green chillies. Now take out Dhokla and top of it put this tadka. Ready to serve..
