- It's 1 cup of long grain biriyani or basmati rice.

- Parboil your rice till al dente(almost cooked).
- Prep your vegetables. Blanch them and retain that water.

- Add in your spices and the vegetables. Add some water (if needed) and let it cook till ready.
- Get your parboiled rice ready.
- Get a big pot for this. Start with a layer of rice.
- Followed by the vegetables.
- Do so for the rest of the layers. Rice should be the last layer. Sprinkle some turmeric or saffron solution over the rice. I added some green food color too..
- Add a little water and let the rice cook covered on a low flame for about 5-10 minutes or till ready.
