In this recipe, canned chickpeas are used (who doesn't like a shortcut?), but you can also use dried chickpeas, available from most supermarkets and specialty Indian groceries. Ingredients of Chhole (chickpeas)
- You need 2 cups of chickpeas.
- You need 1 tablespoon of chana daal.
- You need 1 of tea bag for colour.
- Prepare For of gravy:-.
- It's 3-4 of tomatoes.
- It's of Small Ginger.
- Prepare 2 of green chillies.
- Prepare 2 teaspoons of Everest chhole masala.
- Prepare 2 teaspoons of dry mango powder(amchur).
- You need 2 teaspoons of coriander powder.
- You need 1 teaspoon of turmeric.
- Prepare 1 teaspoon of chilli powder.
- You need 1 teaspoon of garam masala.
- You need 1/2 teaspoon of Black salt.
- It's as per taste of Normal salt.
- You need For of tadka:-.
- Prepare 1 tsp of Cumin seeds.
- It's Pinch of Hing.
- Prepare 1 of Tej patta.
- Prepare 1 of Dalchini.
- It's 2 of cloves.
- Prepare 1 tsp of Black pepper.
- You need As required of Ghee.
If you do so, then factor in the time required to soak the dried chickpeas. After a night of soaking, boil the chickpeas with a little salt, until soft and then use. Add the boiled chickpeas to the yogurt curry. Add some water the chickpeas were boiled in, if you want a thinner curry.
Chhole (chickpeas) step by step
- Soaked chhole and chana daal 4 to 5 hour in hot water..
- Add to a cooker along with tea bag for colour..
- Cook until for soft 5 to 6 whistle on a medium heat and chole must be soft when cooked not and if chole aldente or is hard, then cooked for 2 more whistle..
- How to make chhole take a pan add 2 spoon ghee then add cumin seeds, tej patta, clove,black pepper, hing, dalchini and let the colour into turn golden..
- Then add ginger chilli paste and tomato paste put all masala like turmeric, red chilli, garam masala, coriander, amchur, chhole masala etc and cook..
- Cook till ghee start to leave and moisture is evaporated..
- After that add chana(chickpeas)..
- Add 2 cup of water and salt (black and white both)..
- Boiled 15 to 20 mint, Garnish coriander leaves. And serve with bhature & pulav..
Dahi chhole is ready to eat. Serve alongside boiled rice for a delicious, filling meal.
