Quick Chole Masala Punjabi chole masala or chana masala is one of the most popular curry dishes from India. In fact in north India no wedding or party is complete until you have chole masala on the menu. Chana masala is traditionally based with green chilies, onion, garlic, fresh cilantro, a blend of spices, chickpeas, and tomatoes. You can cook Quick Chole Masala using 18 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you achieve it.

Ingredients of Quick Chole Masala

  1. It's of chickpeas (boiled).
  2. Prepare of oil.
  3. You need of cumin seeds.
  4. You need of bay leaf.
  5. Prepare of cloves.
  6. It's of black pepper corn.
  7. You need of ginger garlic (crushed).
  8. It's of tomato (puree).
  9. Prepare of green chillies.
  10. Prepare of red chilli powder.
  11. Prepare of turmeric powder.
  12. It's of coriander powder.
  13. Prepare of chole masala.
  14. Prepare of salt.
  15. Prepare of kasuri methi.
  16. Prepare of garam masala powder.
  17. Prepare of fresh coriander.
  18. Prepare of lemon juice.

It can be prepared a number of different ways, but I chose the simple route. Chole Masala is an Indian food recipe (Punjab). Prepared with chickpeas (channa) aka garbanzo beans, onions and spices, eaten with puri, bhatura, rice or rotis. Chole or Chole Masala is a popular chaat famous all across the India.

Quick Chole Masala step by step

  1. First in a pan or pressure cooker heat oil, once oil heated add all whole spices and let them crackle.keep the flame low then add crushed ginger +garlic and stir for a min.now add coriander powder, turmeric powder red chilli powder and chana masala powder and stir..
  2. Now quickly add tomato puree (add green chilli too while making puree) and stir well.add salt and stir. cook until oil comes out on the surface..
  3. Now add boiled chole/chana /chickpeas and mix until well coated with gravy, cook for 3-4 minutes on low to medium heat while stir occasionally.Now add as required water to get desired consistency, mix well. close the lid and just give it a whistle. let the pressure release by itself..
  4. Lastly add kasuri methi, garam masala powder, fresh coriander and squeeze lemon juice and mix.quick and delicious chana masala is ready to serve, serve with puri, rice or with roti..
