Neer dosa/water dosa. Neer Dosa, a thin, soft and lacy crepe made from rice better is a popular food item in South India, belongs to Karnataka cuisine. Neer means "water" and the batter of this dosa is very watery hence it is called neer dosa (watery dosa). Neer means water in Tulu or Kannada, the dosa gets its name from the watery consistency of the batter.
Recipes for Neer Dosa vary from cook to cook, but the core ingredients are soaked rice, water and salt. Fresh coconut is abundant in South India and is commonly added for flavour. I add coconut flavour to this dosa in the form of coconut milk. You can have Neer dosa/water dosa using 5 ingredients and 5 steps. Here is how you achieve it.

The taste of these neer dosas will depend entirely on the sweetness of the fruit. If you are using a slightly bland to low sweetness kind of a watermelon, it will be fine. If the fruit you are making is too sweet, then I suggest you use only a small part of the fruit and more of the rind (white part) while grinding the dosa. Neer dosa is yet another variety of dosa from the Karnataka cuisine.

- First soak the rice overnight or soak for atleast 2 hour. Now in a mixer add the soaked rice, onion and coconut and grind until it becomes smooth paste.

The word 'neer' translates to 'water' in tulu language, which means 'water dosa'. these dosas are so called as the batter is watery and not thick like the usual dosa batter. A dosa is a rice pancake, originating from South India, made from a fermented batter. It is somewhat similar to a crepe in appearance. Its main ingredients are rice and black gram, ground together in a fine, smooth batter with a dash of salt. Dosas are a common part of the diet in South India, but has become popular all over the Indian subcontinent..
