- You need 500 gm of Rice.
- You need 1000 gm of Chicken.
- You need 1/2 cup of oil.

- Prepare 1/4 cup of mint leaves(finely Chopped).

Hyderabadi chicken Dum Biryani step by step
- Start with marination. And marinate the chicken for atleast 2 hrs. You can also put it overnight in advance..
- Wash and soak rice for 1/2 hour..
- Boil water in a large utensil as we need a lot of water. Into the water add 3tbsp oil, 10 whole black pepper, Cumin and 2 to 3 green chillies and bring the water to boil. Once a water is boiled add drained rice and cook it for atleast 7 to 10 mins on high flame till it's 80% cooked. Now drain the rice and put aside..
- Heat oil in a big pot, add the onion till it's golden brown. Now take aside some onion to put it in the layering of the rice..
- Now in that pot add the marinated Chicken and cook it properly. When the chicken is tender. Now add the first layer of rice over it, and top it with mint leaves, some ghee, fried onion, and tomato pieces. Now add the left rice into the pot and top it with some black pepper powder and lil bit garam masala powder and ghee. Now pour the orange and yellow colour and make sure both colour should not be mixed..
- Now put the pot on high flame and cover the pot with aluminium foil and cover the lid and put some heavy thing on the lid. After 5 minutes slow down the flame and cook for atleast 25 to 30 mins..
- Once it's done, mix the chicken and rice carefully. Now Dum Biryani is ready to serve hot.....!.
