Ingredients of Sambhar upma
- You need 1 cup of roasted suji.
- You need 1/3 cup of peas.
- It's 1/2 cup of carrot.
- Prepare 1/2 cup of potato (cut in small pees).
- You need 1 tsp of green chilli.
- You need 1 cup of tuvar dal (boil).
- It's as per taste of Salt.
- You need 2 tbsp of chopped onion.
- It's 2 tsp of chopped tomato.
- You need 5-6 of curry leaves.
- It's 2 of dry red chillies.
- You need 1 tsp of urad dal.
- Prepare 1/4 tsp of mustard seeds.
- It's 2 tbsp of oil.
- You need 1/2 cup of green peas.
- You need 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder.
- Prepare 2 tsp of red chilli powder.
- It's 1 tsp of sambhar powder.
I usually make this sambar for idli/Dosa. But this time i tried for this upma. Some variations of sambhar include ingredients such as moong dal and pumpkin. Sambar is part of a tradition of lentil-based vegetable stews in southern India.
Sambhar upma step by step
- Heat oil..
- Add dry chilli, mustard seeds, curry leaves, urad dal..
- Add onion sate still cooked..
- Add potato, carrot, green peas, salt, turmeric powder..
- When all vegetables and cook.
- Add tomato & green chilli,salt,red chilli powder..
- Add suji & water..
- Mix properly..
- Add tuver dal & water..
- Last add sambhar masala..
- Add water..
- Consistency depends on your choice..
