Ingredients of Sooji upma

  1. Prepare 1 cup of sooji.
  2. You need 1 of Tomato chopped in small pieces.
  3. You need 1 of onion chopped in small pieces.
  4. You need 1 of capsicum chopped in small pieces.
  5. Prepare 1 of carrot chopped un small pieces.
  6. It's 1 tsp of chopped ginger green chilli.
  7. You need 1 tsp of black mustard seeds.
  8. You need 2 of dry red chilli.
  9. It's 8-10 of curry leaves.
  10. Prepare pinch of Hing/asafoetida.
  11. Prepare 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder.
  12. You need To taste of Salt.
  13. Prepare 1/2 tsp of turmaric powder.
  14. It's 1 tsp of oil.
  15. You need 2 tsp of urad dal and chana dal.
  16. You need 1/2 of lemon.
  17. It's as needed of Water.

Sooji upma instructions

  1. Heat a pan.add suji and roast.once the rawa become fragrant then switch off the flame and keep it in a plate..
  2. In a pan heat oil.add hing and mustard seeds. When it's crackle add curry leaves,ginger-green chilli, whole red chilli,onion and saute till onion gets softened..
  3. Add all chopped vegetables and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add salt,Turmaric powder,red chilli powder and mix everything well..
  4. Then add 2.5 cups water to this mixture. Stir well. On a medium to high flame,Heat the water and let it come to a rolling boiling. When the water come to a Boil.lower the flame and then add the suji in 4-5 batches with a spoon.quickly stir and mix very well. The suji grains absorb water and thus swell and get cooked..
  5. Cover and allow the suji upma to steam for 2 minutes on low flame. The suji is cooked and the upma is ready..
  6. Add lemon juice and serve hot immediately..
